Birth date: 23rd June
Hometown: San Antonio

Appearance:
Sarah is built slim and petite. She looks as though if she bent over to far she would break - though that's quite far from the truth. She has long brown hair that travels to around half-way down her back. It has a slight wave to it when it nears the end. Most of the time she prefers to wear her hair down. She has green eyes, that stand out. They aren't bright, and are in fact quite dull coloured compared to some, but her skin is quite pale, so most of her features stand out quite well.
She likes to wear clothes that are comfortable and easy to move about in - not that she moves about too much, but it's nice to not feel restricted - as you would if you were in a mini-skirt, say. She prefers jeans, sneakers and a t-shirt - perhaps with a logo or picture on it. Too be honest, she's quite the nerd and most of the time there's a super-hero on her top.
Personality:
Sarah is quite complex. She's intelligent, and she knows it. She doesn't have much in the way of natural strength or ability - she's quite the dancer, but when she isn't swaying to movement she has little balance or grace. So her mind is her main weapon - basically her only weapon, so she's trained it well. She's quite geeky and could spout on for hours at end about anything electronic related or the latest comic that's been issued. There's little that can stop her when she get's started.
Her mind is quick and so her humour comes usually from quick comebacks or lines from tv shows she has watched that fit the scenario. She's resourceful and can use the things around her to her advantage. Her main skill is that she's good with her hands - mending things, that is. She's good with fixing electronics.
But she also keeps to herself a lot, rarely mixing with others. She's not entirely shy - she will stand up and argue for what she believes in, but she feels different from others and won't join in with most things unless specifically invited. Sarah is also extremely stubborn and though in some cases this is a good thing it can be annoying. She also has a tendency to keep things secret from those around her.
One of her worst aspects is that she keeps secrets - and things usually turn out nasty. She never gets close to others for fear they will get burned. But things never work her way. Of course, if something is truly important she won't let the secret lie. She'll fight for what she believes in or more often, what she wants.
Another is that when she gets angry - she stays angry. It takes her a long time to cool off. It isn't too easy to set her off, but if you push a certain button, she'll be off like that.
Sarah has no sense of rules or boundaries - in any kind of scenario. She knows her rights from wrong, but she doesn't see things in black and white and she hates the feeling of being controlled. She won't follow a rule if she doesn't feel like it, and most of the time? She doesn't feel like it.
Background:
Sarah grew up with her mother and father in San Antonio in Texas. Her father was a doctor, and her mother flitted between professions never choosing to settle down. Though her parents would often argue, Sarah was always sure that they loved each other because most of the time the whole family would get on great. From the ages of 3-12, Sarah was home-schooled by her mother, though sometimes a tutor would be brought in to help. Because of this, she rarely got out to socialise with others so even to this day her social skills are severely lacking.
The fact that she was lonely during these years didn't cross her mind. She'd never had any real friends, only the few kids on her street she'd sometimes meet, and because she'd never had friends, she didn't know what it was like to have them. Therefore loneliness was all she had known.
It didn't bother her that for the most part her only company was her parents or tutor, that was just how things were. She grew up quickly, and her she learnt all she could. From an early age she was doing complex equations and she cottoned on to explanations quickly. She was a natural with things such as electronics and took part in workshops such as science fairs to show of the talent she had.
By the time she was dawning on 13, her parents decided that after neglecting their child's social skills for so long it was time for her to go to high school.
The first few months were quite hellish for Sarah. The school she went to was small, and just about everyone knew each other. Shunned by most of her peers, she managed to make a few awkward friendships with the geeks - those she had a lot in common with. She'd never gossip or anything like that, but started to learn what it was like to have friends. For a few years, things were fine.
Until the week before her fifteenth birthday. School was going fine as normal. She had a few close friends, but others left everyone else alone. Sarah was also doing well with her studies, and she actually enjoyed school. One day, she went to her chemistry class as normal, and that day an experiment was on.
She liked doing experiments, actually trying out what they had learnt previous, so with a small smile she made her way to her little workstation, and struck the match to light the bunsen burner. Before she turned the gas on, her eyes were drawn to the small flame flickering away. It struck her how beautiful it was, how the flame danced. The smile on her face grew bigger, she was entranced by the flame and didn't note how big it was growing.
Turning on the gas, she then let her attention drift to the flames again.
The authorites are sure of what happened next. When Sarah and the now huge and twirling flame neared the table at the far end of the class next to the window, the gas that had been on for a while reacted with the flame. Most of the authorites are astonished Sarah survived, and all of them were glad the gas hadn't spread too far and no one else had been hurt - shocked, yes, but not hurt.
Sarah gave her account, but left out the part about the flame growing bigger and making shapes. However the next night she told her mother, the person she was closest too. It hurt her deeply when her mother laughed in her face. Her mother had been so shocked and felt so bad at the fact that she had nearly lost her daughter, that talking about the day only upset her.
So Sarah had researched on her own, worked out what was happening to her. Secrets were things she knew about, so she never mentioned her gift, the controlling fire to anyone, never spoke of it again as the research grew. Until one day a few months into her fifthteenth year, she found out about the camp. And her stubborness came in handy as persuaded her parents to let her attend.
So from fifteen onwards, the quick learner Sarah has been at the camp.
