The stadium was just as Sarah liked it - quiet and empty. Of course when there was more people about that meant more of a chance for trouble and excitement but... Sometimes she just didn't want that. Sometimes some quiet relaxation was what was called for. After a few years at the camp, the Stadium had become the place where Sarah would hang out when she needed to be away from others. It had taken her only a couple of weeks to work that out.
After all the Great Lodge was usually buzzing with people so resting wasn't exactly an option in that place. There ws always hanging out in the fire territory but... Things would always heat up very fast there and though that was how Sarah liked it and hoped it would stay it just, well, it wasn't everything.
Her long brown hair twitched slightly in the blowing breeze, moving across her face. A frown passed on Sarah's features, but she made no other move to show discomfort or move the hair away. Her sneakers were old, and the soles were peeling away but they were silent, and she walked quietly about. Her too-big jumper hung on her and she pulled her hands up just the slightest so that they couldn't be seen out of the sleeves.
Quiet could be good, and as she sat down in one of the benches half-way from the center, she sighed.
Eyes closed she sat still, listening to the sounds around her. She could hear a buzzing insect next to her that was rather annoying and she could feel her temper flare almost instantly, but controlled it. One of the lessons here she had made sure to learn quickly and well was control. She would not have her power control her, no way. If this thing was going to change her life - as it already had, it would be on her terms.
Sarah sighed again, okay, so that had been a slightly creepy thought. Though she hated herself every time she used the phrase, what Sarah needed to do right now was chill out. Relax. Take in the place. Opening her eyes, she looked around the empty stadium and let a small smile grace her face.
Quiet.
And now not-so-empty...

Adian had been rather miffed at the whole shenanigans that had gone down at in the water territory. Someone had decided it would be a wonderful idea to hide on the roof and manage to gather everyone outside... Only to dump a small ocean on their heads. No one had suspected it, seeing as that no one ever played pranks, but it happened and Adian was a bit pissed off. It was on the new-comers. A younger boy who had only been there for a few months. Adian had heard he was having trouble adjusting to his new life at the camp, but that didn't forgive his arrogant playfulness. Things like that just didn't happen in the water territory.
Adian almost pitied the new boy. A whole new advent had arisen, something completely new for the water camp. A man hunt for the new boy, who had smartly fled the scene upon seeing the anger. Adian had been apart of that for a good few hours. Upon realizing the boy was well hidden, he had simply left. It wasn't as if he could go anywhere but the common grounds at this point in time.
The cafeteria was closed and Adian wasn't in the mood to wander through the Great Lodge. His best bet was going into the Stadium. No event had been posted and it wasn't often that anyone even entered the place without reason. Adian figured this was the only place he could go to get away from everyone and calm himself.
Upon entering the Stadium Adian looked around. At first Adian didn't notice the girl sitting in the stands, he was too busy remembering the last fight he had witnessed. It had been a pretty epic battle. Two long-time rivals from the Earth Camp had decided to host an event as they battled it out. The Stadium had been repaired and the ground smoothed over, but Adian could still almost hear the sounds of the battle. He smiled happily, "Good time, good times." He said to himself.
It was then that he noticed the girl sitting up in the stands. Adian gave a wave, not realizing her eyes were closed. From the distance, Adian couldn't make out any facial features that gave away who she was. Adian had been there a long time, but sometimes he'd run into someone he'd never met before. "Hello." He called up, deciding it would be impolite to sit away from the only other person there. He hadn't necessarily come for conversation, but if it happened he wouldn't mind.
As he walked up towards the girl, he tried to put a name to the face. His mind drew a blank, he had seen her before but he wasn't sure who she was. As he climbed a few more stairs towards her, Adian decided he should introduce himself before sitting down near her. "I'm Adian, I don't recall meeting you before. I've been here for five years, but sometimes my memory likes to take a vacation, so excuse me if I've forgotten your name."

"Hello."
So, it seemed her little bit of time alone just wasn't meant to be. Slightly annoyed, she rolled her eyes, but looked down at the stadium to see who was there. She couldn't recall the boy by name, but that didn't surprise her really. She had seen him aorund though in fact. "Hello." she called back, slightly surprising herself. Surely it would have been easier to just shout at him and get rid of him straight away, not join into a conversation with him? But the deed was done and he was already headed this way.
As long as the boy wasn't planning on having other company join him, she supposed she could live with the presence of one other person. Control. That's what she needed right now. It wasn't his fault she was tired or wanted some peace, some time to be alone. Mind you, her thoughts when she was alone rarely did anything to improve her mood - so she would take a chance and talk if that was what he wanted to do. If the chat distracted her then she'd be happy for a while.
"I'm Adian, I don't recall meeting you before. I've been here for five years, but sometimes my memory likes to take a vacation, so excuse me if I've forgotten your name."
Adian... Right. She'd easily remember that. Smiling just slightly and a little lop-sidedly she returned the introduction. "Well... I'm Sarah. And I've been here for a few years. But, uhm, I suppose I'm not exactly good around other people. I'm not a social bunny." Her smile could have so easily turned into a smirk at that point, but she restrained herself, and kept up the simple smile.
The boy, Aiden, he seemed alright. I mean, a little weird for coming over to talk to a stranger, but permaybehaps she should be giving him points for that? She smiled a little brighter, and scooted over on the bench slightly, before drawing her eyes away from him and looking down into the stadium's center once more.
The little flame inside her was burning to start a fight, but Sarah was tired and she could tell that Adian wasn't exactly at his best either. Now wasn't the time for being either defense or aggressive.

Adian was pleased the girl didn't seem too angry about his presence, which was a good thing. He hadn't even considered the fact that the girl might have been there trying to find her own private spot, or perhaps she was waiting to meet someone? Adian should have thought of that sooner, he mentally scolded himself. "I'm not intruding am I?" He asked, trying to hide his inner turmoil with a lopsided grin. "Sometimes I think before I speak, so if I am, let me know. I won't be offended."
When she offered up her name Adian figured he wasn't. Especially when she scooted over some. He took that as an invitation and sat down next to her. "Hi Sarah. I think I've seen you around so I am sorry if I never got your name. I try to learn everyone's names but I guess sometimes people slip by." He said matter of fact. It was the truth, Adian did like to learn everyone's names. It seemed the only civil thing to do considering it wasn't like there was a bunch of other people like him out there. Might as well build bridges before he left the camp, if he ever would.
"I am from the water camp, how about you?" Adian asked, seeing as that having control over an element was something common in the camp. "I don't suppose you have annoying new comers in your camp playing pranks whenever they get the chance, hmm?" He asked trying to make conversation.

"I'm not intruding am I?"
'Resist the urge to snort or laugh, resist the urge to snort or...' was the thought playing on repeat at his comment. Neither of these things happened, though she supposed it was a lucky escape. The boy did seem to br trying though, credit for that. She glanced back over at him, listening as he talked. She was a good listener, when given the chance. 'That doesn't seem to happen often though, three guesses why anybody? No?' She thought wryly before commenting, "That's one of my problems as well. And as I'm not sure being labelled a hypocrite would suit me I'll be sure to let it slide." She paused then smiled slightly again. "But you're not intruding, it's fine."
She sat silently again as she listened to him once more. The boy, Adian, honestly believed his words, that much was clear. He really did seem to try and get to know everyone - and she could back this up with evidence having seen him talking to many people before. "It's fine," she repeated, without realising it. She didn't want him to get worked up thinking she had taken offense to the fact that he had not talked to her before.
His good nature was just floating about him, seemingly so different to her nature. And when he told her that he controlled water everything fell into place - that place may be far away from Sarah, but it fell into place none-the-less. The water controllers she had met had almost always had a good nature. She snorted then, at his inquiry about new comers. "I'm from the fire camp. And yes, we have had dealings with that kind of new comer... She flashed him a small grin. "Pranks ranging from the that-could-have-been-funny to the downright dangerous." She shrugged.

Adian leaned back and stretched out his legs, allowing the sun to warm his body. Although it had taken seconds to dry himself and his clothes completely he still felt the chill he got when he was hit with another water controller's attack. It wasn't as if he flesh was cold, it was more of cold inside his bones. It wasn't that unpleasant but it left Adian feeling a bit well... chilled. He allowed the sun to shine down completely on his body as he reclined, hoping it would drive the chills from inside him.
"Hypocrites." Adian said to himself, a rather wry smile crossing his face. "I think this camp is full of hypocrites sometimes. We come here to learn to control our powers by using them more. Seems a but hypocritical, but I guess I can't really argue with how it's done. It seems to be working, at least. In his heart of hearts Adian felt like the biggest hypocrite of them all. He wasn't there to learn to control his powers so he could lead a normal life, he was there to hide from a past mistake and sometimes his own abilities.
"The fire camp, eh? I've never had the fortune to talk to anyone from there. It always seems as if fire and water never quite get along. What's it like on your side of the camp?" Adian inquired, truly curious, "All we really have is a giant lake and a lot of mud, if you can imagine... With all the water balls being shot back and forth. We also have a very distinct lack of dry bedding." He half-joked looking at Sarah. "But seriously, what's it like? I've never gone down there before, and I feel like I'd be completely out of my element, excuse the pun, if I did."

Sarah glanced at him, curious that he hadn't yet been put off by her behaviour. She tilted her head slightly and watched him stretch out in the sun before turning back to look down into the center stadium. The ground was so smooth and looked so safe. It wasn't really though, that was just an illusion. The safe part. Many battles and competitions had taken place there.
"I think this camp is full of hypocrites sometimes.
His words rang true with her. She had thought the same thing herself, but the results seemed to be postive, and you couldn't argue with that. Not if you wanted to win anyways. "True. I suppose we all are. But I doubt it'd be too smart a move to go around telling everyone that they are, in fact, hypocritical. Doesn't seem too polite, does it?" She tilted her head once more to look at him, a slightly amused smile playing on her face.
"The fire camp, eh?"
Sarah turned away, a small frown on her face as she too leant back a little, allowing the sun to wash over her. "Consider it luck that you haven't. Things never end up going well when fire is involved. Surely someone must have told you not to play with fire? I've been told that many times. I suppose I never really follow that kind of rule very much." She looked down at her feet, eyes travelling down her stretched out leg. She heard the hint of true curiousity in his voice and wondered at that. The Sarah heard his tales of the water camp - of course she had been curious of the place, she hadn't heard much talk of it before, certainly not from someone of water ability. "Somehow I can imagine that, yes. But it must be nice for you, being all... watery." She scrunched up her nose at the word 'watery' having been unable to come up with something else, but then continued. "I think your punning skill needs a little work." She gave a small grin once more, eyes darting his way. "What it's really like? It's hot. Super hot. There's a lot of fire-proof material around. And even then most places tend to turn to ashes. It's hard controlling our power." But that didn't seem to be a good topic to go to so she quickly tried to think of something that would catch Adian's attention. "There's a volcano. Dormant, of course. That's pretty awesome."
