Brantley had just finished one of her teaching sessions. She had worked hard and learned a lot and was ready to just relax. She walked along one of the paths towards the great lodge. The red head walked slowly just taking in her surroundings and enjoying the gentle breeze flowing through the trees. The sunlight was dappled on the ground. Brant watched her feet as she walked humming to herself. It was past noon so the sun was starting to go down. The sun was still warm and kept Brant warm as she walked down the path toward the lodge.
She finally reached the tall wooden structure. Brant approached and just stood there for a minute. Even though she had been here a few years now the red head could never get over some of the things that she got to experience. No one ever questioned what she was doing or where she was going. Brant was so used to her parents always telling her where to go and asking her what she was doing that she almost still expected to hear it. Finally Brant walked up the wooden steps and picked a chair to sit down on, on the porch.
The red head sat down and talk her small back pack off her back. Brant placed it on the ground in front of her. She unclasped the buckle and opened the drawstring and pulled out a book. The green eyed girl scooted back in her seat and tucked her legs up under her. She opened the book to the page that he green bookmark had been saving for her. The sun shone down on her, and Brantley used that light to read the book. The words flowed around her as she read and she almost felt like she was in the story. Although she was fully absorbed into the book Brantley was fully aware of her surroundings. The red head was aware of other campers walking past and instructors entering the building to go up onto the second or third floor which was only open to them. The tan girl felt at home in this chair with the woods around her and the sun shining down happily. She kind of wished that she had someone to share the time with.
